Why I started writing in my 40's
More than a decade ago, I stopped reading.
Not because I stopped loving books, but because life became full.
I became an engineer, a mother, a wife, a friend and a responsible adult. For years, my learning came less from books and more from observing people, relationships, work and everyday life.
Somewhere along the way, I realised I had become so busy living life that I had stopped exploring it. I wanted to reconnect with the curious version of myself, and almost by accident, I found my way back to books.
I expected books to give me knowledge.
Instead, they gave me something far more valuable.
Questions.
Curiosity.
Wonder.
For the first time in years, I found myself talking excitedly about ideas. My eyes started sparkling again. My mind, once overwhelmed with responsibilities, became filled with curiosity.
This isn’t a collection of book reviews.
It’s a record of my journey.
Every book I read changes the questions I ask.
Those questions lead me to the next book.
That book changes my understanding again.
And the journey continues.
Over time, I hope to build something bigger than a reading list.
A map.
A map that connects history, geography, economics, technology, psychology, religion, education and artificial intelligence into one evolving picture of how our world works.
Every post on this blog answers one simple question:
Why did I choose this book next?
If you’re looking for star ratings or summaries, this probably isn’t the right place.
But if you’re curious about how one question leads to another, how books connect across disciplines, and how curiosity gradually changes the way we see the world, I hope you’ll enjoy following along.
Welcome to my reading journey.
Let’s see where curiosity takes us.
